PROBLEMS PLAYING OR RIPPING CDS?

Before contacting support about any issues involving CD audio extraction (ripping) or CD playback, please follow these instructions:

1.
Click
here to download the ForceASPI update. Save this file on your hard drive.

2.
Double-click on the file you downloaded in step 1, and extract the contents to a temporary folder on your desktop. If you are unable to open the file, then you will need to download a program that handles ZIP files - such as the free
UltimateZIP. Ensure that you 'maintain' folder structure when you extract the files.

3.
Open the folder you created in step 2. Double-click on the icon labelled 'ASPICHK.EXE' (may be shown as 'ASPICHK' on some systems). The program that runs will inform you about the current state of your system's ASPI configuration. If a problem is identified then proceed to step 4. If no problems are shown, then please complete a Support Request form by clicking on the appropriate link below. When completing this form, please remember to inform us that ASPI is set up correctly on your machine.

4.
Double-click on the icon labelled 'KILLASPI.BAT' (may be shown as 'KILLASPI' on some systems). This should remove all ASPI files (including problematic ones) from your system.

5.
Reboot your system, and open the folder again. Double-click on 'INSTASPI.BAT' (may be shown as 'INSTASPI' on some systems). This should install the ASPI files required by your system.

6.
Reboot your system, and open the folder again. Double-click on 'ASPICHK.EXE' (may be called 'ASPICHK' on some systems). This time you should find that it tells you that ASPI is correctly installed.

7.
Run PCDJ and navigate to the the 'Ripp/Encoder' tab of the 'Software' section of the config options. Make sure that your CD-ROM drive letter is selected, and that 'ASPI' is chosen as the Interface option.

8.
Enjoy the CD playback/ripping functions of PCDJ!

If the above process fails when running Windows XP, then ensure you are logged in with Administrator rights (your PC manufacturer can help with this if necessary) and try again...
