Loop Editor Module
The Loop Editor Module combines fine cue-point editing
with test and correct BPM functionality. Together, this
makes BPM matching certain and exporting perfect loops
easier than ever. New features include: Fully adjustable
BPM/InPoint/OutPoint, Waveform view with zoom, 'slipping'
of loop by 1 beat or 'flipping' the entire loop, writing
a series of loops at once.
This section provides a powerful array of BPM testing
and loop creation tools. Upon track load (blue button),
the two waveform displays to the right will show the Inpoint
and Outpoint for a 4-beat loop starting at the track's
beginning. This will also be denoted by yellow markers
on the progress bar at the bottom center. These yellow
markers represent the temporary loop presently playing,
while blue markers (if shown) represent the loop saved
to the current cue, if any. A vertical slider in the center
right controls the volume of the Loop Editor. CUE, STOP,
and PLAY buttons at the bottom center allow playback of
the file and the cueing of a cue point saved to the track.
The B and L buttons to both sides of these buttons allow
the moving of the entire loop ('slipping') by either one
beat (B) or by the Loop Length (L), essentially flipping
over the loop. The
display to the left will show the Artist and Title of
the track loaded as well as the permanent BPM on the
left side of the display. A display of the current sample
will run if the track is playing. On the right side,
the Temp BPM of the loop playing as well as its InSample
and OutSample point are revealed. The increment/decrement
buttons and the horizontal sliders near each of these
allow you to change the InPoint, OutPoint, and/or BPM
of the loop until perfected. Note: Changing the InPoint
actually slips the whole loop by moving both In and
OutPoint, while moving the OutPoint changes the BPM,
and vice versa. The buttons to the right of each horizontal
slider allow Fine Editing of either the InPoint or the
OutPoint by entering a stuttering mode.
Below
this, information about the present cue is displayed
including Cue Name, BPM at that Cue(if a BPM change
is necessary), and the Loop Length. There is also a
section denoting either or . This refers only to the
current cue point. The message bar at the bottom of
the left display reveals if that saved cue is looping
or if what you are hearing is a different loop with
either "Looping " or "Looping *NOT SAVED
CUE*". This will also be denoted by the Red and
Blue squares just to the right of the left display.
If Blue is lit, the loop playing is already saved to
the file. If red is lit, it is presently unsaved.
Changing
the Loop Length in the bottom right of the Left display
will change the Loop Length of the temporary loop playing.
If increased above the configurable top Loop Length
limit, the track will play without looping similar to
a normal player. As it plays, if the Loop Length Increment
button is hit again, a 4 beat loop will be created at
that point in the track.
The
PREV and NEXT Buttons at the top center refer to the
Temporary BPM. These buttons will scroll through an
index of 16 alternative BPM's in the case of BPM detection
error (with some Drum-n-Bass or 2-Step tracks). This
can also be helpful when determining the BPM of a new
track with no BPM to test. The BPM/2 and BPM*2 either
double or halve the Temporary BPM to this same end.
When
the correct Temporary BPM is found, the WRITE BPM button
near the bottom right will write this Temp BPM to the
track. This Permanent BPM will be displayed at the top
left above the Artist and Title display.
The
EXPORT, DELETE, and FILL TO NEXT CUE buttons just above
the center progress bar either Export the temporary
loop to the current cue, Delete the current cue, or
write a series of loops at once. Using FILL TO NEXT
CUE to write a series of loops is a powerfully easy
way to create a track full of loops in less than a second.
Once a proper temporary loop is found, move to an or
delete the current cue and hit FILL TO NEXT CUE. This
button will write the loop to the current cue, flip
the loop over and write the next loop to the next cue,
and so on. This will continue until the 20th loop, the
end of the file, or until a previously written cue is
found. It will not overwrite any cue. The message bar
at the bottom left will display which loops were written
and their beat length . (ex1. "4 beat loops 1-20
written", ex2. "16 beat loops 4-15 written").
